SkillNet helps Holland & Barrett International modernize Swedish stores
Health and wellbeing retailer continues to invest in modern technology as it expands Nordics business
Holland & Barrett is the world’s leading health food retailer of supplements, vitamins and minerals, with over 145 years of experience. It operates over 1,300 stores in 16 countries, including a substantial presence in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Nordics, Benelux, China, India and UAE.
In 2017, the company was bought out by investment firm L1 Retail. In the same year, Holland & Barrett acquired Swedish chain HÄLSA FÖR ALLA, in a push to build a 500 store Nordics portfolio.
The company has also been transforming itself digitally, investing in modern retail technology for connected customer experience and streamlined processes across stores, e-commerce and wholesale operations. Leveraging its modernization initiative to further prepare for Nordics expansion, Holland & Barrett equipped its stores in Sweden with a new point of service software from Oracle Retail. To help deploy the new system, Holland & Barrett leaned on SkillNet.
SkillNet has been a long time partner of Holland & Barrett, providing expertise on retail transformation initiatives for the company in UK and other European regions for the past several years. For the new point of sale system, SKillNet relied on Oracle Retail XStore POS as the foundation application. It tailored the system to comply with regulatory requirements of the Swedish tax agency. The system was seamlessly integrated with payment platform from Adyen to enable a variety of payment options for the customers. SkillNet also used its innovative integration technology StoreHub to automate the flow of operational data in and out of the new point of service system.
With new technology in place, Holland & Barrett is ready to push its weight in Sweden and the entire Nordics region.
